Rift AUTO vs CUSTOM dribbling: what is the difference?

The short answer

AUTO and CUSTOM are separate choices under Dribble Mode. CUSTOM lets you assign moves to directional slots through the menu; AUTO uses the script’s automatic mode. OFF disables the selected dribble mode.

01

Choose the mode for the task

If you want to choose the directional assignments yourself, select CUSTOM and enter the editor. If you want to use AUTO, select that mode and follow its control guidance. Do not assume the custom assignments define every behavior of AUTO.

02

Keep a simple first setup

In CUSTOM, start with one assigned direction and leave the others off. Confirm the menu is closed before testing. Then add another assignment only after you recognize the first action. This avoids confusing several active choices with one unintended input.

03

Save and document the build

Dribble Mode and its assignments belong to the saved setup. Note the active build when behavior differs after switching. If the wrong move appears, check both the mode and the specific directional assignment before changing unrelated shot timing.

Common questions

Does changing to CUSTOM erase my shooting setup?

It is a different menu setting. Keep the build recorded and save through the menu as usual.

Does every direction have the same move list?

No. Up/Down and Left/Right have different option groups in V1.1.
