The short answer
Enable Instant Quickstop in the menu. The V1.1 on-screen hint is R2 + Square on PlayStation or RT + X on Xbox while moving. Its manual-timing Quickstop path is separate from the stationary Auto-Green routine.
Enable the setting
Open Instant Quickstop and use Up/Down to toggle it. Save and close the menu. Check the active build if the toggle seems different later; the setting belongs to that saved setup.
Match the intended input
The menu hint calls for the sprint trigger and shoot button while moving. In the supplied routine, other held inputs and busy shooting actions affect eligibility. Start with a simple test rather than combining dribbling, another shot action, and several held modifiers at once.
Do not confuse it with Auto-Green
The source keeps the manual Quickstop path separate from the stationary Auto-Green action. If you are pressing the Auto-Green stick bind, you are not testing the same control described by the Quickstop hint. Identify the action first, then review timing if needed.
