The short answer
Select L1/LB Dunk Assist, approach first, and make a fresh bumper press with the left trigger released. The supplied routine adds sprint and right-stick-down output while the eligible hold runs.

Dunk Assist must be in L1 mode, the left stick must indicate an approach, and other busy actions must not block the start. Pressing the bumper while standing still and holding it until moving is not the same fresh eligible activation.
Know what the routine sends
The active path sets sprint output, centers the right-stick horizontal axis, and holds the right stick downward. It blocks the physical L1/LB output during that override. These are input actions; the game still determines whether the situation produces the intended dunk and result.
Release to end and retry
Releasing the activation control ends the held assistance and clears its right-stick output. Make a clean release before another attempt. If it fails to start, record movement, left-trigger state, and any preceding action before adjusting unrelated shooting timings.
