The short answer
The supplied Button Rhythm handler preserves physical Square/X for icon passing when R1/RB is held. That combination is deliberately treated differently from Square/X alone.
Rift — our #1 2K27 Cronus Zen script.
Rift’s manual shooting system keeps a defined passing exception and a normal-shot shortcut.
Compare Rift with other 2K27 scripts →Keep the bumper state visible
If a shot control appears inconsistent, check whether the bumper was pressed or externally remapped. Physical Square/X without that combination is the manual rhythm input when enabled. A controller-and-screen clip should include the bumper state, not just the shot button.
Do not confuse the stick-click shortcut
With Button Rhythm enabled, the selected L3/LS or R3/RS shortcut handles the normal-shot input. It is a separate path from the physical-button passing exception. Read the SQ Remap setting before testing all three controls as though they were equivalent.
Test in the right context
Close the Rift menu and use an appropriate game situation for the passing check. Keep other busy actions out of the first trial. If the expected combination fails, record the controller mapping and active build rather than changing Auto Green MS, which does not define this exception.
